"Turkish Citizen ID No" and “Tax Number” for commercial mails is to be presented when receiving/delivering mail due to security reasons according to all the laws and regulations the company is liable to comply with. Laws and regulations related Turkish Citizen ID number and Tax Number to be presented are given in detail below.
According to the 45th article and 2nd line of Road Transport Code published in Official Newspaper dated 11.06.2009 and numbered 27255, the sender must give full and correct address and ID information to the cargo company, and according to article 43/12, the cargo company must take and record ID number of the recipient when delivering the mail.
According to the law numbered 5549 related to Prevention of Criminal Money Laundry and Financing of Terrorist Acts enacted for this purpose and the related Regulation published in the Official Newspaper dated 09.01.2008, numbered 26571, cargo companies are among the responsible parties to request proof of ID and it has become a must to take and record Turkish citizen ID number and/or Tax number of both the sender and recipient.
According to the 231st Article of Tax Procedure Law numbered 213, the customer must give personal information of name-surname, the tax office s/he is bound by, tax number and identity when the invoice is drawn. According to General Communiqué on Tax Identification Number, dated 29.08.2006, numbered 26274, the Turkish citizen ID number is accepted as tax number and thus, Turkish Citizen ID number of the customer is recorded when the invoice is drawn.

If we cannot reach the recipient, in this case, your cargo is kept at the office for 3 days starting from the day of its first entry date to the office. If there is no request from the recipient, the cargo is returned to its sender after 3 days.
If you observe wet areas or hints that the mail might be crushed when you pick up your mail or if you have any suspicions of damage; you should request an official report for necessary checks when you accept your mail. The related report will be prepared with our authorized personnel and a signature from the recipient is necessary to prove that the mail is delivered right before this procedure. Necessary inspections will be conducted for the report and the related process will start within the scope of compensation liability of Yurtiçi Kargo if any damage or loss is confirmed. Requests that are made after the delivery process is complete and requests not made to the authorized personnel during delivery, will not be accepted.
The payment of your shipment could be made by the sender or the recipient.

If the mail is picked up from the address:
Paid by Recipient (A.Ö): The shipment is paid the recipient. The recipient must pay the cost of shipment before accepting the mail from the office or at the address.
If the cargo is not picked up or delivered to the recipient, a written request is expected from the sender to keep/return the cargo. If the written request is not given by the sender in 3 days, the cargo is returned to its original sender with transportation costs and other additional expenses.
